Luke Ashton joined McConnan Bion O’Connor & Peterson in 2025 and maintains a diverse practice spanning corporate and commercial litigation, estate disputes, and creditors’ remedies. He regularly assists clients in complex civil and regulatory matters involving business, environmental, and Indigenous law considerations, and is developing a growing practice in civil-forfeiture and other quasi-criminal proceedings.

Before returning to British Columbia, Luke worked with one of Queensland’s leading commercial litigation firms while completing his Bachelor of Laws at Bond University. His earlier career in the forestry, natural-resource, and infrastructure industries of Northern B.C. provided him with first-hand insight into the operational and compliance challenges facing businesses and entrepreneurs across the province.

Luke is recognized for his disciplined advocacy style, tactical insight, and ability to position his clients for success in complex disputes. He combines a strong command of intricate legal issues with a pragmatic approach grounded in real-world experience.

Beyond his legal practice, Luke is a lifelong martial artist with extensive training in karate, jiu-jitsu, muay thai, and judo. He serves as a Director of the Vancouver Island Bonsai Society and remains deeply connected to the West Coast’s community and natural environment.
