Grant was called to the Bar of British Columbia in February 1999 following the completion of his articles with McConnan Bion O'Connor & Peterson and became a principal of the firm in January 2006. Grant completed his first year of law school in New Brunswick before driving cross-country to finish his law degree in Victoria. He then articled with a small Victoria firm where he focused primarily on civil litigation; although, he did do some outside criminal defence work. Grant joined McConnan Bion O'Connor & Peterson after his call to the bar in February 1999, and now finds himself focusing on family law and a variety of civil litigation matters, including personal injury. Grant is also a member of the Victoria Bar Association.
