Although she was raised on Vancouver Island, Lori chose to attend law school in Alberta, where she stayed on to article with a small group of independent practitioners. After her call to the Alberta bar in 1995, she set up her own practise in association with four senior criminal defence lawyers in Edmonton, Alberta. Lori joined McConnan, Bion, O'Connor & Peterson in September 1999 where she has developed a practice focusing on litigation for the Federal Crown and for civil matters including general litigation and immigration law.

Lori maintains her membership in the Law Society of Alberta. She is currently a member of the Immigration and Women Rainmakers Sections of the Canadian Bar Association, B.C. Branch.
