Richard was born and raised in Newfoundland and, following the completion of a Bachelor of Science degree at Acadia University in Wolfville Nova Scotia, came to the west coast to attend law school at the University of Victoria. Following graduation from law school, Richard completed his articles with a criminal defence firm in Victoria before beginning practice with McConnan Bion O’Connor and Peterson in 2003. He is currently building a litigation practice, primarily focused on carrying out prosecutions on behalf of the Federal Crown. Richard is currently a member of the Young Lawyers and Criminal Lawyers subsections of the Canadian Bar Association, B.C. branch.
