Born and raised in the Cariboo, Tom chose to attend law school at the University of Victoria. After law school, he travelled in Asia before articling with a criminal defence firm in Edmonton. Following his call to the Alberta Bar in 2001, Tom conducted prosecutions on behalf of the Provincial Crown before returning to Victoria in 2004 to conduct prosecutions for the Federal Crown. He joined McConnan Bion O’Connor & Peterson in 2005, where he continues to build a practice focused on litigation for the Federal Crown.
