Michelle was raised in British Columbia’s Gulf Islands, where her parents continue to live and run a small bakery
and general store. Michelle completed her B.A. at Simon Fraser University before moving her young family to
Victoria to study law at the University of Victoria. Michelle took part in the Co-op program, during which she
completed terms working at the Ministry of Advanced Education, the Superintendent of Motor Vehicles, the
Department of Justice Federal Prosecutions Service, and the Law Centre. Following obtaining her LLB, Michelle
completed her articles at Velletta & Company and continued there to practice Civil Litigation and Family Law.
Michelle was called to the bar in February 2008, and started with McConnan Bion O’Connor & Peterson in
November 2008. For her short years of practice, Michelle has significant courtroom experience in both Provincial
and Supreme Courts of British Columbia. At McConnan Bion O’Connor & Peterson she will be practising Civil
Litigation while primarily carrying out prosecutions on behalf of the Federal Crown.
In her spare time, Michelle is an avid cyclist and a wine, gardening and cooking enthusiast. She is the Vice-Chair
of the CBA Women’s Rainmakers and is a member of the CBA Young Lawyers subsection.
